Antique Richardson’s Wash Art Silks Display Cabinet on Iron Base

Once the centerpiece of a fine mercantile, this Richardson’s Wash Art Silks cabinet was designed to showcase threaded silks in style. Crafted of solid oak with six drawers and original hardware, it features glass panels on the top and back that once allowed customers to view the colors of available threaded silk inside. A merchant would stand behind the cabinet, pulling drawers forward to reveal flat samples in the top (scarf, ties and such) or threaded silks in various of colors stored below

Now elevated on a custom iron base with sturdy legs, this rare display cabinet blends industrial character with retail history. Perfect as an entryway console, bar cabinet, a unique jewelry display. It remains as functional as it is conversation-worthy.
