Antique White Ironstone Chamber Pot with Lid
An antique white ironstone chamber pot with its lid, the lid finished with an embossed petal design and a knob handle. Unmarked, and late 1800s to early 1900s in style, with a single side handle and a pouring lip at the rim. The glaze carries tiny blue specks throughout, flecks of cobalt that bloomed in the firing, easy to see inside and only faint on the outside. It is a small period detail, and part of the charm.
These live a second life now as planters and farmhouse decor. This one is lovely holding a fern, a small orchid, or a stack of rolled hand towels.
Condition, honestly: there is a chip at the rim, the lid does not sit perfectly flat, and there are light scuffs and crazing throughout. The price reflects all of it.
Measures 9¼ inches in diameter, 10½ inches across including the handle, and 7½ inches tall to the top of the lid knob.
