Manufacture de Digoin Stoneware Canister with Lid - Deep Teal
French stoneware with a pedigree. This lidded canister was made by the Manufacture de Digoin in Burgundy, France, a stoneware house founded in 1875 whose seal is stamped beneath the lid of this very piece: 1875 over the house wave mark. The base carries the Manufacture's embossed stamp.
The glaze is Digoin's deep green-teal, with a soft cream rim, fully glazed interior, small lug handles, and a fitted lid that sits flush. It is the scale a kitchen counter actually wants: coffee, tea, sugar, or simply a beautiful object that earns its place.
Measurements: 5 1/2" across from handle to handle x 6" H with the lid on.
Condition: no chips or cracks visible; glaze is bright and even.
