Antique 5 Gallon Stoneware Crock

Heritage stoneware with genuine presence. This antique 5 gallon crock carries its bold black 5 stamp, lug handles on both sides, and a dark glazed interior, salt glazed in a warm putty gray with the speckle and variation of a piece that has been in service for generations. It anchors a hearth, a mudroom, or a kitchen corner with ease.

Measurements: about 12 1/2" in diameter x 13 1/4" H.

Condition notes: hairline cracks are present near one handle, shown clearly in the photos, with flecks of old paint on the unglazed base; the price reflects this. For that reason it is offered as a decorative piece rather than for food or liquid storage. It excels in that role: kindling beside the fire, rolled blankets and throws, umbrellas at the door, or as a substantial planter with a liner. No lid.
